Lord's started producing wines in 2006. The first bottles to go on the market were Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc Organic. Both wines were well received and were sold out by the end of the season. In 2007, both Sauvignon Blanc wines have again been produced along with two further varieties - Shiraz and Chardonnay. The 2006 Shiraz and the 2007 Chardonnay both received many compliments at the McGregor Food and Wine Festival in August. The geographical location and terroir of Lord's make it ideally suited for growing the Pinot Noir grape. The first wine is now maturing in French oak barrels and the wine maker is very excited at the way in which the wine is developing. It is hoped that Pinot Noir will be our 'flagship' wine and the first bottles will be available for sale in 2008. The two Sauvignon Blanc varieties, the Shiraz and Chardonnay can now be tasted at, and purchased from, the Cellar. Please telephone ahead to avoid disappointment. If you wish to purchase wines but have difficulty in visiting the Cellar in person, email or telephone and we will try to arrange a mutually acceptable delivery.
